Known as an integral player in the establishment of natural wines in this country, Lee is an ardent supporter of sustainable vine-farming and traditional, low-intervention winemaking. Raised in the New York’s Hudson Valley, Lee earned an undergraduate degree in American Government at the University of Virginia but soon recognized that she was better off at the dining table than on Capitol Hill. After several years working in some of Washington’s and Manhattan’s top culinary and wine institutions, she decamped to Brooklyn, becoming a norm-breaking wine director for the Tarlow Restaurant Group. Later, as co-creator of The Big Glou and co-organizer of the first Wild World Austin, Lee became a player in the establishment of America’s natural wine fair circuit. Having become a certified sommelier many moons ago, as well as stacking up a gang of experience in nearly every aspect of the wine and hospitality fields, Lee continues to work for various clients as a wine consultant, including Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia. Additionally, Lee is now part of the partnership team at Common Wealth Crush: a winery, custom-crush facility, and incubator, located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Ultimately, she sees herself as an advocate for thoughtful consumption and hopes to bring a bit of beauty, grace, and slowness to the lives of the people she meets.

While attending University of Virginia for a degree in chemical engineering, Justin’s father pursued his dreams of opening a winery on family land near Lake Gaston in south central Virginia. Justin spent summers working the vineyard and cleaning out old hay barns on the property. A trip to Napa Valley with Rosemont viticulturist Lucie Morton introduced Justin to the idea of turning winemaking into a career. As prestigious as his chemical engineering degree was, Justin knew he needed further education about winemaking. Justin completed Napa Valley College's two-year Viticulture and Winery Technology in 10 months. The first Rosemont vintage, in 2007, made for perfect wine given the ideal hot and dry growing conditions. Today Justin is responsible for Rosemont’s 7,000 annual case production, and his wine has received accolades, from a Best in Show at the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition to the Virginia Governor’s Cup Gold Medal. In 2020, his peers voted him Virginia Wine Person of the Year. He is a former president of the Virginia Wineries Association. Justin continues to be drawn to the idea of improving blends and the process that goes along with experimenting with different varietals that showcase the Virginia terroir.
